Lectors are a team of volunteers who Proclaim God’s Word during weekend Masses and Church Holy Days and support of Parish Community.
What do Lectors do?
Lectors read the First and Second Readings, Intentions, and Announcements. At some Masses, Lectors operate in teams with one other Lector and alternate reading. Lectors also support other Parish events such as Stations of Cross, Soup Suppers, and Chapel Clean-up as members of the Parish Lay Ministry Team.
How do I volunteer?
All Fort Belvoir Catholic Community members are invited to join this ministry. Parishioners may volunteer by calling or visiting the Parish Coordinator’s office in the Woodlawn Chapel at 703-806-5745 or e-mail
[email protected].
Is training available?
Yes. Training is offered for all Lectors and each Lector receives their own Lector workbook.
Is there more information?
